We bet the whole day was amazing, but do you have a favourite part?

The ceremony. I actually had a lot of fun. My oldest daughter olive had a speaking part too which was the cutest thing ever.

Did you go with a theme? Was it classic or did you have a funky twist?

I wanted a balance between relaxed and classy (with a touch of sparkle). My dress was the Monrose gown from Odylyne the Ceremony which was an amazing dress and I wore some gold boots!

What was your wedding location like? Help us visualise it! We’re real dreamers!

We got married at the middle park bowls club. Its a beautiful old club with a big wooden bar and classic carpet and honour boards. They had never had a big wedding there before so it was like a blank canvas and they let us do what we wanted. We ended up bringing in an event manager, a chef, 2 x chefhands, five wait staff, 2 bar staff and all the glasses, plates, cutlery etc. It was far more work than we anticipated by my husband works in the hospitality industry and I own a company that runs events, so we had some handy contacts and skills!

Tell us about the food- was it sit down, cocktail or food trucks? We’re drooling already!

We were incredibly lucky to have chef Mauro Callegari come and cook for us (he owns The Independent restuarant in Gembrook). We had stand-up canapes and then sit-down entree and mains. The desert was stand-up again as people moved to the dancefloor or did some nightime bowling!

Was there a Honeymoon or did you get back to the daily grind?

Straightback to work, although we did go to Palm Cove in the middle of winter with our daughters which was great.

Do you have any words of wisdom or advice for upcoming brides?

I was older when I got married so I didn’t feel the pressure of doing things ‘traditionally’. We just made the event our own and as a result it felt like a perfect night.
